Birthday Celebration

Today we celebrated my daughter's 2nd birthday party (time has flown!). She had a blast being a princess for the day (everyday really) and i had a blast decorating the party.  I didn't want to go too over the top, she is only 2 years old but i had to make sure the flowers and table top looked adorable!  I created a very simple design for the kids table and i think it is something anyone could do at home.

A basic pink table cloth was our base linen (plastic cause you know the kids just get cake and ice cream all over it!).  A hot pink sequins runner down the center.  I picked up the fabric downtown for $1.99 a yard!  A steal!  The centerpieces were 3 terra cotta pots sprayed hot pink with a splash of sparkle glitter.  Every princess needs a little glitter on her table.  The Hidden Garden then arranged paves of roses & hydrangea to finish it off!  Simple....and adorable!

My dining table piece was a cute mix of gerber daisies, pink hydrangea and pink roses in an antiqued wood box that i had at the house.

Biz Bash Los Angeles

Yesterday we had the honor of participating the Biz Bash Convention at the LA Gift Mart.  It was the first time that we had participated in the convention and i have to admit....i was pleasantly surprised at the warm welcome we received from the attendees!  Not that i thought we wouldn't feel the "love" but i just didn't know what we were getting into! We saw a lot of our current planners that we work with and met a lot of new companies as well.

We had a great booth that Tabella  drape with a charcoal grey silk with green trim border.   Vibrant floral frame landscapes hung from each side of the space and a massive arrangement created with celadon green gladiolas, green cymbidiums and coral peonies (which everyone loved!)  finished off the space.

Through the convention we had table top displays with unique floral designs for all to enjoy.
I'm looking forward to participating next year!

Los Angeles Flower Market

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday The Hidden Garden ventures down to the Los Angeles Flower Market (at a God awful hour...won't even mention it to you!) to select the gorgeous flowers we sell in our store. Even though the time the market opens (2 am) is unimaginable to most, it is still (9 years later) one of the prettiest places to be. I am like a kid in a candy store when I go down the escalator to the market and see the array of flowers and colors before my eyes. Every week, a new flower pops onto the market as our seasons change. You never know what you might find down there. It's one of my greatest inspirations as a designer.

This week the amazing Peonies were in full bloom! Hydrangea in shades of purple, pink, green and blue. Tulips galore!

ULTRA COOL DESIGN THEME

Posted by Tiffany - our intern:

As I was sifting through all our past event photos from the corporate account events, I came across this picture. Amy's Son Zach was sitting on my lap while we were looking at the photos and he thought it looked really cool! Take a peak.
and even cooler is this Simpson's Themed Party...we did with Poko Event Productions.

Candy Bar

Take a look at the complimenting candy buffets that KCee Candy Buffets put together for the Bridal Luncheon {see above}.  The colors of the candies complimented the colors of the event, which always looks best.

Bridal Luncheon at The Beverly Hills Hotel

We had the opportunity, on Sunday, to be a part of a Bridal Luncheon put together by Linda Howard's Sensational Events.  The color inspirations were yellow, white, and Tiffany blue.  The flowers were all vibrant yellow and crisp white.  Take a peak {more pictures to follow}.

Bar Mitzvah at The Mark

Take a look at these pictures from a party we did at the new The Mark for Events. It's a great space for a wide variety of events from Bar & Bat Mitzvahs to Cocktail Parties to Corporate Events. This event was set for all long table for both the kids and the adults. The decor included mainly green, brown, and orange tones- incorporating elements of branches, wood boxes, and grass.

Black, White, & Beautiful

The bride wanted only black and white, so that's what she got...and it looked stunning! She also wanted the accent of cool & funky black feathers added to different areas. All the containers used were a slick black, including the candelabra with hanging black crystals. The bridesmaids & groomsmen were all adorned with all white flowers & black feather accents, while the bride & groom had the accent of white feathers. The gazebo had a clean and lush square display of packed white roses and hydrangea, with complimenting aisle pieces to create a focal point in the ceremony area. The wedding was held at the beautiful Hotel Bel Air.

Trump Wedding

This past weekend The Hidden Garden designed the most beautiful wedding with Mary Dann and her team at the Trump in Palos Verdes. Jennifer and Jian were looking for something elegant, over the top and gorgeous. Flowers ranging in shades of ivory to white were the request by our gorgeous (and super sweet) bride! Incorporating the use of peonies (a favorite), white hydrangea and garden roses...our look was achieved! Crystals, shapely glass vases and abundance of flowers set the tone for a perfect evening!

Here Comes the Guide

There is a very resourceful site for all our Brides to be called Here Comes the Guide. If you are getting married...I'm sure you have heard of it! The Hidden Garden just joined on as a preferred vendor on their site. I have to say their qualification process is very extensive. They do a VERY thorough background check with many references from past clients and other vendors in the industry prior to accepting you into their organization. Check out our new listing and if you have time you should browse the site for other vendors.

We are so proud of our latest addition to our client list. If you are ever in the area....check out the lobby....our work is always on display (lucky us!)

The Hidden Garden is so honored to have been selected to be a part of such a beautiful hotel.

Floral Classes

We had an amazing turn out for our Mother's Day floral classes over the weekend. It was so cute seeing the little ones (and even the dads) making arrangements for Mom. I'm sure "Mom" was thrilled with the beautiful designs their little ones made them. Each arrangement was filled with roses, hydrangea, lilac, viburnum and cymbidium orchids. What's not to love!

There are so many beautiful flowers in season right now! Mother Nature hasn't graced us with such an amazing selection for this holiday in a couple years. Baby Shower Centerpiece Ideas

Today we had the cutest baby shower at The Peninsula in Beverly Hills. Linda Howard, from Sensational Celebrations helped us design these adorable bird cage floral vignettes for each of the tables. It's a cute twist on a very simple idea. We collected some antiqued bird cages and filled the interior of each cage with mood moss and rose heads. The outside of each cage was adorned with "oasis cages" and filled with an array of pink mojaleka sweet heart roses, viburnum, pink heaven rose and ivy.
